ORGANISATIONS BENEFITING FROM DONATIONS
VAINCRE LA MUCOVISCIDOSE (OVERCOMING
CYSTIC FIBROSIS)
Financial years 2014 to 2018
The association “Vaincre la Mucoviscidose” (Overcoming Cystic Fibrosis)
contributes to research against cystic fibrosis, for which it is the leading
association funder in France, to the progress made in the knowledge of this rare
genetic disease and improving the quality of care provided to patients.
At
the
end
of
its
audit
and
within
the
limits
of
its
investigations
and available information, the Court declares that the association’s expenditure
over the financial years 2014 to 2018 is in line with the objectives pursued by the
public appeal for generosity.
“
Vaincre la mucoviscidose
” (Overcoming Cystic Fibrosis) has annual resources of
around €14 million. Between 2014 and 2018, the association contributed €20 million to
the funding of research programmes and €13 million to the operation of specialised care
centres. It also offers direct assistance and social support to help patients with the
difficulties they encounter in their daily lives.
However, the Court considers that:
the procedures for allocating financial support and preventing conflicts of interest,
although they appear rigorous, should be more formalised;
the association should strengthen risk management and internal control;
the preparation of the annual accounts for the use of resources could be made more
rigorous;
the efforts undertaken in 2019 by the association to rationalise its current operating
expenses and secure its resources should be continued.
