EDF and its subsidiaries have grown out of a public enterprise (Épic) with a monopoly on electricity generation, supply, transmission and distribution in France. Today, EDF and its subsidiaries have diversified activities in the energy sector and in many countries. At the request of the French National Assembly's Finance Committee, the Cour is publishing a report on its business model, analysing the nature and scope of its activities and the methods used to generate its sales and earnings. The survey looks at the resources deployed by the Group to fulfil its missions while ensuring a sustainable financial trajectory. Following an analysis of the main features of this business model, the report examines the main determinants of the Group's results over the period 2012-2024, before assessing the levers that can be mobilised to enable the Group to achieve its ambitious investment programme.
