The National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence

COUR DES COMPTES

Following a trend that began in several countries in the mid-2010s, France decided to launch a strategic review of the challenges associated with artificial intelligence (AI) and to develop a specific public policy in this area. The first phase of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (Stratégie nationale pour l’intelligence artificielle, SNIA), conducted between 2018 and 2022, focused primarily on strengthening research in this field. In February 2025, on the occasion of the Paris Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence, the President of the Republic announced a third phase of the national strategy,
the details of which were clarified in the months that followed.
