The flash audit published today concerns the public service missions entrusted to the main French postal service, La Poste. At a time when the amount of state funding for these services has risen sharply, this report is intended to provide guidance to the negotiators of the 2023-2027 service contract. La Poste Group is a public limited company owned by the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (66 %) and the French State (34 %). With sales of €34 billion in 2021, the group has seen strong growth in its business in recent years, up 41% between 2017 and 2021, driven mainly by external acquisitions. With 245,000 employees, the group is France’s second-largest public-sector employer and embodies a public service that is present throughout the country, thanks to its network and 65,000 postmen and women.
