Public aid for business innovation

At the request of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, the Court initiated an investigation into public aid for innovation. As agreed with the Finance Committee, the scope of the enquiry concerned the overall support for companies, without analysing the specific sectors in terms of research and innovation, like defence and the pharmaceutical industry. In view of the assessments already underway on the research tax credit, it was chosen to focus on the arrangements managed by the public investment bank, Bpifrance, by analysing their relationship with other State, regional and European Union aid.
