Implementation of Brexit in France

On 23 June 2016, when asked by referendum: “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?”, the British people voted by a majority of 51.89% of the votes cast in favour of leaving. Following a long phase of negotiations, the United Kingdom left the European Union on 31 January 2020, on the basis of a withdrawal agreement. A trade and cooperation agreement then established the framework for the new relationship from 1stJanuary 2021. At a time when the full effects of Brexit are yet to be felt, the Court of Accounts has carried out an investigation into the preparation and implementation of Brexit in France.
